   Industrial Hazardous waste disposal products

Overview Supplier
What are industrial hazardous wastes:
  • Industrial waste is generated in three forms – Solid, Liquid & Semi Solid. Careless use and disposal of these substances contaminate our food, soil, water, and air; and seriously threaten the ecosystems on which we depend.

  • Industrial waste broadly consists of:
EXAMPLES OF HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATED BY INDUSTRIES ANDBUSINESSES

Source: Environmental Protection Agency, Solving the Hazardous Waste Problem: EPA's RCRA Program (Washington, DC: EPA, November 1986), 8.
  • The wastes are mostly hazardous in nature as they could be highly inflammable, reactive or toxic.
    1. Toxic: fatal or lethal when ingested, touched or inhaled even in small quantities for e.g. rat poison, cleaning fluids, pesticides, bleach etc
    2. Flammable: easily burst into flames for e.g. lighter fluid, spot and paint removers etc.
    3. Corrosive: eats away materials and living tissue by chemical action for e.g. oven and toilet bowl cleaners etc
    4. Reactive: creates an explosion or produces deadly vapors for e.g. bleach mixed with ammonia cleaners etc.
Product characteristics:
  • From the above discussion, it is clear that these waste needs to be dispose off. For that these waste needs to be pack in container & should be transported to industrial waste effluent plants nearby.
  • The desired properties of the hazardous waste disposable products (mainly the container) are:
    1. Slanting roof for water dispersion
    2. Split 'stable' door to allow containers to be added without the other falling out
    3. Chemical warning sign and information panel
    4. Lockable
    5. Non slip base to prevent movement when braking
    6. Carrying handles
    7. Hour long fire protection
    8. Strong fiberglass construction
    9. Portable, so can easily be fastened to van, truck or trailer.
    10. Cost effective alternative to expensive building modifications
Application:
  • This industrial hazardous waste disposable products act as a container to store the waste like chemicals, Pesticides, Oils, Solvents, Paints, cylinders and aerosols  as an intermediate.
  • It also helps to protect the vehicle from any indecisive incident during transportation.
Raw materials:
  • Generally, the Poly vinyl Chloride (PVC) is used as a main raw material for this container but on occasion the glass fibre reinforces plastics is also used.
Technology
  • Commonly molding & coating technology used but for fibre reinforcement sectional warp knitting also used.
