APEX creates new avenues for continuous filament insulation

At the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Show, Climashield (Booth # 39037) announced a continuous filament insulation solution specifically designed for outerwear. The new iteration of Climashield APEX features all the traditional properties of continuous filament in a slim, soft and 100 percent recyclable premium insulation.

The most thermally efficient product in the Climashield portfolio, APEX retains the lightest weight average in the industry. Thanks to technological innovations in the company's manufacturing process, Climashield has perfected this brand for outerwear so that it achieves high density, low loft and a soft hand. Without sacrificing the signature characteristics of continuous filament, Climashield APEX for outerwear is also durable and compressible, not going flat over time.

Maintaining a superior level of thermal efficiency even in wet conditions, APEX incorporates AquaBlock™ technology – a proprietary surface encapsulation designed to minimize the impact of moisture on warmth while enhancing moisture transport out and away from the body. The insulation is also 100 percent recyclable, incorporating zero binder fibers or chemicals.

Climashield Tug of War

At the Rock & Ice Climbing Zone (Booth #5007), Climashield invites OR attendees to play a game of Climashield Tug of War. Contestants are challenged to test their strength by competing against each other in a traditional game of tug of war using a rope made of Climashield's strong and durable continuous filament insulation. The men's competition takes place Thursday, January 21 from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and the women's competition takes place Saturday, January 23 from 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Grand prize winners in each event receive a premium sleeping bag featuring Climashield insulation.
