Autoneum's new underfloor systems for silent SUVs

Autoneum, a manufacturer of acoustic and thermal management solutions for vehicles, has developed a new version of its lightweight underfloor systems made of Ultra-Silent for noise reduction sport utility vehicles (SUV).

The underfloor version made of the textile material Ultra-Silent makes the SUVs lighter, quieter, reduces CO2 emissions and more fuel efficient. It reduces the vehicle noise by up to two decibels. The Ultra-Silent underfloor systems are 50 per cent lighter compared with equivalent components made of plastic.

Ultra-Silent underfloor systems have a high degree of impact resistance and optimum stone chip protection. The mono-material consisting of glass-free PET is resistant against water and heat and in addition fully recyclable.

More than five million vehicles of European and Japanese customers have been equipped with the company's underfloor products. Autoneum has begun the production of Ultra-Silent underfloor systems in series for its first European SUV manufacturers. (HO)
