Ballyclare Limited, a British designer, manufacturer, and distributor of high quality, functional workwear, protective clothing, and specialist PPE, has underlined its position as an established rail workwear provider by confirming it can supply customers with garments that are fully compliant with the amended industry standard that was introduced recently.

The change has been made to the Railway Group Standard GO/RT 3279.

Ballyclare’s status as a rail industry supplier was underlined when the company won a major new contract to supply Network Rail with its waterproof, flame retardant, and arc protection garments. Under the contract, Ballyclare provides Network Rail a wide selection of garments to 13,000 trackside workers based at over 700 of Network Rail’s UK locations.

Ballyclare key account manager, Maggie Shaw said, “The original standard has been replaced by the new Rail Industry Standard RIS-3279-TOM ‘High Visibility Clothing’ and we’d like to reassure our customers this has absolutely no effect on the Ballyclare garments they wear.”

“All Ballyclare garments which were certified to GO/RT 3279 are automatically compliant with the new RIS-3279-TOM standard, so customers can continue to trust their Ballyclare garments. This really does highlight the fact that the workwear we supply to the rail industry not only meets current standards, but also often exceeds them,” Shaw added. (GK)
