Toray celebrates upgrade to TORAYCA T1100 facility in Alabama

Toray Composite Materials America celebrates a $15 million upgrade to its Decatur, Alabama facility, doubling the TORAYCA T1100 carbon fibre production capacity and adding redundancy for defence applications. The crucial carbon fibre is integral to various United States Department of Defence weapons systems and the Future Vertical Lift programme.

US’ Hexcel Corporation’s sales climb 13.4% in FY23

Hexcel Corporation reported a 13.4 per cent sales increase in FY23, reaching $1,789 million. The company’s gross margin improved to 24.2 per cent, with adjusted operating income at $216.7 million in FY23. In the fourth quarter of FY23, sales were $457.5 million, with a gross margin of 22.5 per cent. Q4 adjusted operating income was $49.1 million.

UK’s NCC commissions Cygnet Texkimp filament winding machine

The UK's National Composites Centre (NCC) has commissioned Cygnet Texkimp's four-axis filament winding machine for its new hydrogen transportation and storage facility. France’s Michelin set to buy Flex Composite Group for €700 mn

French tyre manufacturer Michelin will acquire Flex Composite Group (FCG) for €700 million in line with Michelin’s 2030 strategy.
