Toray Composite Materials America celebrates a $15 million upgrade to its Decatur, Alabama facility, doubling the TORAYCA T1100 carbon fibre production capacity and adding redundancy for defence applications. Hexcel Corporation reported a 13.4 per cent sales increase in FY23, reaching $1,789 million. The company’s gross margin improved to 24.2 per cent, with adjusted operating income at $216.7 million in FY23. In the fourth quarter of FY23, sales were $457.5 million, with a gross margin of 22.5 per cent. Q4 adjusted operating income was $49.1 million.

The UK's National Composites Centre (NCC) has commissioned Cygnet Texkimp's four-axis filament winding machine for its new hydrogen transportation and storage facility. The machine, designed for simultaneous winding of four tows, features tension control units, custom software for data recording, and two four-position creels for different fibre types.
