German headquartered ContiTech has opened its new Chinese facility for manufacturing coated fabrics for a variety of applications. Based on cutting edge facilities for waste air treatment, the facility stays below Chinese emission limits more than ten times, while its thermal insulation systems helps to save energy at a uniquely high level.

Set up at a cost of €20 million, the product range from the new facility includes robust concertina wall materials, which connect railway carriages together, or fabrics for protective equipment, dry diving suits and life rafts.

"The investment into our new plant underlines our commitment within and to the Chinese market," Dr. Peter Scholtissek, head at ContiTech Elastomer Coatings said. "It allows us to better meet our Chinese customers’ demands in different industries." (AR)
