Faurecia has launched a new tech centre in the Silicon Valley in order to strengthen its position and relationship with automakers, innovative start-ups, leading universities and new actors in the mobility sector. It is all set to accelerate its start-up scouting activities in the region and will host one of the artificial intelligence teams of Faurecia.

Faurecia will also build a technology platform for its innovation ecosystems like ‘Smart Life on Board’ and ‘Sustainable Mobility’ in the tech centre.

"The opening of our tech centre gives Faurecia a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as the central link between all actors in the mobility sector. The concentration of stakeholders crucial to our ecosystem will allow us to step up our transformation and enable us to offer innovative solutions to attract new customers," said Patrick Koller, chief executive officer of Faurecia.

Faurecia is one of the largest automotive equipment suppliers of the world. It has been working actively in order to build strong ties with the local ecosystem like Stanford University and Plug and Play, the world's largest start-up accelerator. (VM)
