Functional textiles trade show TITAS 2016 begins in Taiwan

Around 400 exhibitors from Taiwan and overseas are showcasing functional textiles at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS 2016) which opened on October 17. The focus of TITAS 2016, organised by the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) is on environmentally friendly and functional products and is also the biggest TITAS show till date.

Apart from exhibitors from Taiwan, companies from Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and South Korea too are participating at the fair.

Buyer delegations have come from China, Hong Kong and India to view the latest in functional textiles, while representatives from around 100 global brands from over 20 countries are expected to attend the show, with the US alone accounting for 25 per cent of these brands.

TTF has organised buyer meets between Taiwanese suppliers and foreign buyers to push sales of Taiwanese made functional textiles during the three-day show. (AR)
