More than 100 stakeholders from across the carbon fibre and composites supply chain will convene in Munich during October 10-12, 2017 for the annual Global Outlook for Carbon Fibre conference, the only event which focuses entirely on carbon fibre and provides a global forum for manufacturers, composite industry executives, technologists and new entrants.

Smithers Rapra have been organising the GOCarbonFibre conference for over 20 years. The conference provides a unique global forum for carbon fibre manufacturers, composite industry executives, technologists and new entrants for comprehensive update on the outlook for growth, supply and demand, the latest applications and recycling and re-use of carbon fibres.

The 21st conference will focus on a number of topics including end user applications, alternative PAN and precursor applications, sustainable materials and methods, the role of recycling, novel approaches to composites manufacturing, new technologies for carbon fibre production, and circular economy opportunities.

There will also be two pre-conference activities including a workshop on 'How to design and build a carbon fibre line' on October 10.

In 2016, attendees included Boeing, Airbus Defence & Space, BMW, Nissan, ELG Carbon Fibre, SGL, Toho Tenax, Green Alliance, University of Nottingham and many more.

"GOCarbonFibre is a unique, high quality conference with high calibre speakers and an intimate feel. The 2016 conference was up to the usual high standard of organisation and enabled results-orientated networking and technical exchange opportunities," according to D Buckmaster of Carbon Nexus. (SV)
