US’ FRX, Sichuan develop 1st halogen-free flame-retardant fabric

American chemicals company FRX Innovations Inc and China’s Sichuan EM Technology Co Ltd have collaborated to develop the world’s first halogen-free inherent flame-retardant upholstery fabric solution capable of meeting the stringent British Fire Standard BS 5852; part 1 for furniture. US bioengineers invent mattress that makes body fall asleep faster

Bioengineers at the University of Texas in the US have built a mattress and pillow system, which can trigger sleep by manipulating body temperature. As sleep is possible when body temperature lowers at night as part of the 24-hour rhythm, the new mattress stimulates the body to trigger feelings of sleep using heating and cooling functions.
