INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, has selected Kimberly-Clark Corporation's Kleenex exfoliating cushions, H.B. Fuller's Conforma adhesive, and Sustainable Health Enterprise's (SHE) Go! pads, for their novelty, uniqueness, and technical sophistication, as the top three finalists for INDA's prestigious Hygienix innovation award.

The winner will be selected and announced at Hygienix, the premier event for the absorbent hygiene and personal care markets, to be held from October 24 to 27, 2016 at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, Fla.

Over three-and-a-half days, the newest and latest technologies, innovations, and advancements in the nonwovens segment will be spotlighted at Hygienix. Each finalist will make a short presentation on October 25, 2016 on how their product best meets the award criteria. The winner will be chosen by the Hygienix conference participants, INDA's technical advisory board, and the Hygienix conference planning committee.

Conforma adhesive is a unique, stretchable adhesive can be used in place of elastomerics to create a stretch feature in disposable absorbent products. Using patented technology developed by SHE to make an absorbent core from banana tree agricultural waste, Go! pads maintain superior absorption without using any chemicals and super-absorbent polymers. Kleenex exfoliating cushions are made up of multiple layers of nonwovens, each specially engineered to deliver a specific benefit—into a novel, versatile facial cleansing tool.

Dave Rousse, INDA's president said, “This year's finalists were selected from many nominations received across the entire spectrum of absorbent hygiene and personal care products. These products demonstrate the high level of sophistication and creativity in our markets today. The finalists truly are the best of the best for expanding the use of nonwovens into new and exciting application areas. These leading companies raise the bar of excellence for all of us. Presenting the award is always an event highlight and this year won't disappoint.” (GK)
