Michelman and Mafic to develop innovative solutions

Michelman and Mafic have agreed to partner for innovation and production development, focusing on increasing the performance and surface characteristics of basalt fibre and its use in high performance composites. Michelman’s leading position as a sizing and surface treatment expert and Mafic’s advanced basalt fibre technology will be useful to the venture.

“By working together, Michelman and Mafic can accelerate the pace of new and advanced product innovations for a broad array of end-use applications,” said a press release of the company.

Michelman is a global developer and manufacturer of environmentally friendly advanced materials, offering solutions for coating, printing and packaging, and industrial manufacturing markets.

Mafic is a private enterprise, formed in 2012 for the production of advanced materials for the composite industry. (VM)
