Kelheim Fibres’ Viloft bags Lighthouse award

The viscose speciality fibre Viloft from the Bavarian viscose fibre manufacturer Kelheim Fibres has been honored with the Lighthouse award for its bio-degradable wet toilet tissue project. The award is presented annually to outstanding projects in the field of environmental technology that have already been implemented and that are commercially viable.

Fives and partners unveil pilot line in Pistoia

Fives along with its partners Dell'Orco&Villani and Technoplants has unveiled a pilot line in Pistoia (Italy) for nonwoven producers to test fibres for ADL applications -hygiene, personal care, medical, etc. The pilot line is equipped with opening and blending systems, a state-of the-art carding machine DMS Elowave and a thermobonding oven.

KBR gets contract by DuPont Safety & Construction

KBR has got a contract to expand capacity for manufacturing Tyvek nonwoven materials by DuPont Safety & Construction at its facility in Contern, Luxembourg. Under the reimbursable contract, KBR will provide project management, engineering, procurement and construction management services for a third operating line and is scheduled to start in 2021.

In the Filtration and Performance business area, the company will invest about EUR 28 million to increase manufacturing capacity as well as product capabilities. Norafin inaugurates first American production site
