Organic sales at Autoliv up 7.7% in Q2

Organic sales at Swedish manufacturer of automotive safety systems, Autoliv rose 7.7 per cent year over year to $2,579 million in the three months to June 30, 2016.

For the second quarter of 2016, operating margin stood at 8.2 per cent, while adjusted operating margin was 8.6 per cent.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the company had expected organic sales growth of around 10 per cent and an adjusted operating margin of around 8.5 per cent.

For the third quarter of 2016, Autoliv expects organic sales to rise by around 6 per cent and an adjusted operating margin of around 7.5 per cent.

While for the full year, organic sales are expected to grow around 7 per cent and adjusted operating is anticipated to be more than 8.5 per cent.

CEO Jan Carlson said, “In the first six months of 2016, we saw continued strong order intake, which is likely to continue,”

“This is a positive development for our future growth and our current long-term outlook now shows that we should surpass our end of decade sales target of $12 billion,” he noted. (AR)
