Over 700 participants from 30 nations are expected to attend the 56th edition of Dornbirn Manmade Fibres Congress (Dornbirn-MFC). The three-day programme will kick-start from September 13, 2017. The European-led innovation platform for the fibre industry and downstream manufacturing stages will function as a generator of ideas and networking agent.

At the event, more than 100 papers will be presented on fibre innovations, fibres, textiles and nonwovens for health care and hygienic applications, protective applications and sports and leisure wear.

The opening day will witness management talk on the topic "Marine Litter – a problem turned into an innovative opportunity". The programme will include young scientists forum which will conduct workshop on the impact of the digital (r)evolution on research and development chaired by Walter Woitsch, managing partner - Industrieberatung SYNGROUP (A). An expert panel will be held on circular economy: textile and nonwovens waste-a threat or opportunity? The panel will draw insights from experts of the fibre industry and downstream manufacturing stages, trading firms and, for the first time, from waste management companies as well.

This forum will be jointly organised by the Dornbirn-MFC in cooperation with CIRFS (the European Man-made Fibres Association), EDANA (the association of the nonwovens industry) and ISWA (the global association of waste management companies). (RR)
