Movea SA, the global leader in technology, patents, and products for motion-sensing applications, announced a new partnership with Oxylane to co-develop high-tech products dedicated to sport of the future. Under the terms of the agreement, Oxylane gains access to the most advanced motion-sensing technology on the market for use in athletic equipment and apparel sold in its Decathlon stores.

To develop the pioneering athletic equipment, Movea will work directly with Oxylane product designers, offering its cutting edge motion-sensing microtechnology and expertise. This approach is at the core of Oxylane's strategy to develop and commercialize increasingly innovating products which provide concrete solutions to the fast-changing sports segment.

"With Movea, Oxylane and its brands Geonaute and Nabaiji, , we have found a strong partner for the development of innovating products based on motion capture technology", said Stéphane Marchioni, Electronic Products Manager at Oxylane.

"Oxylane chose Movea to commercialize innovations co-developed by our engineers, allowing us to benefit from their reputation in the field of sports", said Sam Guilaumé, CEO, Movea SA. "We are eager to see these products commercialized and to continue sharing our respective know-how to drive R&D in sports."

In its R&D laboratory, the start-up company headquartered at Grenoble (France), on the Minatec innovation campus, an international center for micro and nanotechnologies, designs microsensor measurement devices that can record, transcribe and analyze human motion. The MotionPod, for example, a microsensor solution designed by Movea, includes a body movement control and measurement module for medical professionals.

Already firmly established with white label products in the health sector, the collaboration now establishes Movea's position as the leader in motion capture applications for the sports market. Movea is more widely known to the general public under the name of Gyration, the brand name used for its consumer range of motion-sensing wireless Air Mice products.

Created in March 2007 by a team of industry leading researchers and executive management, Movea SA was founded from the French research institute CEA-Léti specializing in motion sensing technologies. Headquartered in Grenoble, France and Milpitas, California, Movea is the global leader in technology, patents, and products for motion-sensing applications in consumer, healthcare, mobile, and other markets. Movea's corporate objective is industrializing and commercializing innovative motion capture solutions for a variety of market segments.
