A team of researchers from Japan, Pakistan and Vietnam have developed a mixture of aliphatic lipidic strands and certain cyclodextrins—produced from starch by enzymatic conversion—that can reduce the amount of lipid in anti-viral walls. The ‘Make PPE in America Act’ will need a wide range of federal agencies to purchase US-made personal protective equipment. The bill also requires such agencies to issue long-term contracts to US manufacturers.
