SGS, a leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company has announced the acquisition of Integrated Paper Services (IPS) Testing, an independent lab providing testing services for the nonwovens, packaging, paper and disposable consumer products industries.

Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, IPS Testing offers physical and analytical testing for nonwoven fabrics, pulp, paper, medical supplies and packaging in both the consumer and supplier environments.

“This transaction strengthens our position in the paper and nonwoven segments and complements the acquisition of SGS Courtray in France in the hygiene market. As well as increasing our footprint in the United States, which is a strategically important market, it also gives us the opportunity to deploy these services globally,” said Frankie Ng, CEO of SGS.
