South African nonwoven textile sector workers to get 7% wage hike

The COSATU-affiliated SACTWU has now settled its 2022 wage negotiations with a seven per cent hike in the nonwoven textile sector. The agreement is part of a series of other wage settlements that the SACTWU has successfully achieved. The SACTWU had formally raised a dispute regarding wages for the nonwoven textile sector on June 17, 2022.

SACTWU secures 5.5% wage hike for South African nonwoven sector

The Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU), affiliated with Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), has settled its 2021-2022 wage negotiations in the nonwoven textile sub-sector to secure a 5.5 per cent wage hike for its members. The backdated agreement is effective for a 12-month period until June 30, 2022.

PFNonwovens to invest R600 million for expansion in South Africa

Workers in South African nonwovens sector get 7.25% hike

Employees working in the nonwovens sub-sector of the South African textile industry will receive a 7.25 per cent wage hike back dated from July 1, 2018. The workers will also receive another 7.25 per cent wage hike beginning July 1, 2019, as per the two-year agreement reached under the auspices of the National Textile Bargaining Council (NTBC).
