The January edition of IPM Essen will see UK based super absorbent fibre (SAF) manufacturer Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) display various innovative fibre and fabric technologies from its Agrotas product range that help in efficient water management.

This is the first time that TAL is participating at IPM Essen and will have a booth in one of the Commercial Horticultural Association managed UK Pavilions, in the main technical hall.

TAL’s SAF technology creates new possibilities for the development of fabrics that can be used for short and long-term solutions, from hanging basket liners to commercial scale projects, even in areas of low water availability.

Such technical fabrics are designed to achieve highly controlled delivery of water and nutrients to root systems, whilst significantly reducing evaporative loss and water seepage.

“We have developed and tested a strong portfolio of products for this market,” says TAL commercial manager, Stuart Coomber.

He adds, “From liner fabrics for baskets to durable fabrics that can be buried below the grounds surface, our SAF offers a solution for anyone looking to reduce water usage or have a need to ensure plants don’t dehydrate during transportation.

“At IPM Essen we will have a team of development specialist’s on-hand to introduce visitors to our technology and meet specific requirements if needed,” he informs. (AR)
