Terram, the leading geosynthetics brand, has launched its enhanced Geocell range to offer significant savings in both cost and risk when installing access roads. Terram Geocell is a 3D cellular confinement solution ideal for use in construction and civil engineering projects for erosion control, soil stabilisation on flat ground and slopes, load platforms, tree root protection, channel protection, and structural reinforcement for load support and earth retention.

Terram Geocell products are manufactured from permeable geotextile fabric and allows for the passage of airflow and water making them ideal for sustainable drainage systems.

The innovative solution is suitable for multiple applications, including the construction of highways, railways, solar and wind farm access roads, landfills, pipelines and in landscape engineering, allowing for the free flow of water, reducing project costs and minimising the impact on the environment.

“The importance of installing well-engineered access roads, on time and within budget is a priority for EPC contractors. This element can pose huge detrimental consequences if best practices aren’t adhered too, and Geocell is the perfect solution for this,” said Ben Brown, Terram application and sales engineer.

“In certain instances, Geocell may be used to reinforce aggregate which would otherwise not be suitable for use in load bearing applications, offering potential savings on imported materials,” Brown added.

The Terram Geocell range is lightweight and easy to handle, as it can be easily cut to size on site, reducing costs further still. It is adaptable to terrain and can be formed around trees and other obstacles. (NA)
