Trelleborg has acquired the UK company Dartex Holdings. The company specialises in the manufacture of coated fabrics primarily for the healthcare and medical industry and is a leader in coated fabrics for pressure injury prevention. The acquisition broadens Trelleborg’s offering and strengthens its position as a premium supplier of engineered coated fabrics.

The acquisition has been made through Trelleborg’s business area Trelleborg Coated Systems.

Privately owned Dartex has its head office and a production facility in Long Eaton, England. It has another production facility in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, US. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

“I am very pleased with this acquisition that complements our product range and strengthens our position in healthcare and medical, which is a growing industry for us. We will be capable of offering our customers even more engineered solutions and, not least, a greater geographic reach. I am impressed by the company’s high-quality products and its level of innovation, as well as the close relationships it has with its customers,” says Dario Porta, president of the Trelleborg Coated Systems business area.
