  • According to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) windbreaks are plantings of single or multiple rows of trees or shrubs that are established for environmental purposes. The height of the tallest row and overall density of foliage and branches of an individual planting greatly influence the size of the nearby area that is protected or sheltered.
  • But as the trees are limited & it takes much time to grow so artificial windbreaks are needed.
  • The main purpose of the wind breaks is to protect the plant from winds; however it is used for other applications too.
