Ashok Athalye is a Ph.D. (Tech) in Textile Chemistry (UDCT Mumbai) and a Fellow of Society of Dyers and Colourists (FSDC-UK) and Fellow of Indian Chemical Society (FICS).

He is presently Professor in Textile Chemistry & Dean – Student & Alumni Affairs, at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.

Having work experience of over 26 years in technical service for the application of dyes and chemicals in textile processing, he has gathered industrial competency based on the roles and responsibilities entrusted at various levels in Indian as well as multinational organisations.

His last assignment was with Rossari Biotech Ltd as Vice President – Technical. His previous associations include Atul Ltd - Colors business, Croda (formerly ICI-Uniqema) Chemicals, Jaysynth Dyechem and Hindustan Ciba-Geigy.

He has published over 100 research and review articles in journals of international repute and made technical presentations at various seminars.
