After1980, the environment of polymer science has enabled the fibre manufacturer toproduce high tech fibres. High-tech fibres covers high performance, high senseand high functional fibres. In high tech fibres technology of producing hightech fibres has brought the sea change in the properties of fibres as well asits end uses. Commonly used High tech fibres Kevlar; Spectra, Carbon, PBI/PB0,Nomex are known for their extremely peculiar unconventional properties likehigh mechanical properties, thermal resistance and functional properties. As itis the human nature not to be satisfied with one achievement/development. Fibrescientist throughout the globe have put their sincere efforts andcritical-thinking to reach the height of excellence by bringing furtherdevelopments in the High Tech fibres. Biotechnology and nanotechnology havefacilitated the efforts of fibre scientist as a result of which innumerabledevelopments have been achieved and realized in fields of high tech fibres. Toenunciate few of them are polylactic acid, Basalt, Bionolles, Shape changingfibre, Vectran, Polyallylate, Chameleon fibre, polyketone fibre, Artirosa,Alginate, Super absorbent fibre, Hyaluranan & collagen and nanofiber.

PLAfibre is a living example of antimicrobial fibre, Basalt fibre has excellentperformance as a sewing thread it is possible to use the threads made from itfor joining filter bags for hot media and aggressive chemical media.
