Conference on commercialization of natural fibres composites on Aug 7

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing a conference on technical textiles for “Application and Commercialization of the Natural Fibres Composites in Automobiles and Infrastructure Sectors”, in association with Secretariat of the International Jute Study Group (IJSG), Bangladesh.

The conference will be held on August 7, 2012, at FICCI, Federation House, in New Delhi and is scheduled to be inaugurated by Ms. Kiran Dhingra, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.

Industry experts including Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan, Director, Institute of Radiation & Polymer Technology, Bangladesh; Dr. AK Sharma, Director, Centre of Excellence (COE) for Composites, India; Dr. Babu Padmanabhan, Chief Knowledge Officer, STEER Engineering Pvt. Ltd., India; Mr. Markku Vilkki, CEO, Conenor Ltd, Finland; and Dr. Takuya Nishimura, Group Manager, Toyota Auto Body Co. Ltd., Japan, are likely to share their views at the event.

The conference will focus on strengthening the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the natural fibre sector, to explore the real-time approaches for the commercialization of the natural fibre composites and to develop a specific marketing protocol for the biocomposites.

It would be useful for technical textiles industry, R&D Institutes, jute & plastics industries, as well as companies in furniture, automobile, construction sector, etc.
