Kordsa, reshaping the industry with its innovative technologies, has developed a new generation fast press curable resin called CM14, which eliminates waterspot and whitespot problems, thus providing high visual clarity. The company is the global player of tire, construction reinforcement, and composites technologies market, headquartered in Turkey.

Kordsa has introduced a new fast press curable prepreg system in composites technologies with an aim to supply the best possible materials solutions for manufacturing large volume, low-cost, good quality composite parts. Kordsa achieved an innovation that eliminates whitespot problems in visual parts thus providing high visual clarity for automotive industry at its R&D centre located at composite technologies centre of excellence, the company said in a press release.

The new generation fast press curable resin, especially formulated for cosmetic grade visual carbon look, opened the new possibility of use of prepregs in automotive mass production. Due to long duration of composite manufacturing techniques, composite materials were not able to reach the takt time of automotive industry. This is one of the main reasons that limited previous generation prepregs to be used in automotive mass production and restricted the composite use to high-end segments. With this revolutionary formulation, Kordsa achieved an enhanced visual quality optimised for automotive mass production. (GK)
