Michelman, a producer of surface modifiers, additives and polymers has bagged the ISO 9001:2015 certification for its US operations after having received the ISO 9000 standard, back in 1995. The ISO 9001:2015 standard is based on seven quality management principles which ensures a business is positioned to consistently create value for its customers.

These principles include customer focus; leadership; engagement of people; process approach; improvement; evidence based decisions; and relationship management.

“There is so much about ISO 9001:2015 that directly correlates to the Michelman culture. It states that people at all levels are the essence of an organisation and their full involvement enables their ability to be used for the organisation’s benefit,” Tim Baker, global quality assurance process engineer at Michelman said. “These are driving forces that have been inherent to the Michelman culture for decades.”

ISO 9001 is a standard that establishes requirements for a company’s quality management system and helps businesses and organisations to be more efficient, while improving customer satisfaction. The new standard, ISO 9001:2015, replaces the previous version, ISO 9001:2008. (AR)
