Fitesa has completed the acquisition of the assets of Fibre Dynamics (FDI), a producer of engineered nonwovens. FDI manufactures meltblown and carded nonwovens for disinfectant wipes, filtration, face masks, automotive, medical, hygiene, and other industrial applications. Headquartered in Brazil, Fitesa is one of the largest global nonwoven’s manufacturers.

The acquisition will strengthen Fitesa’s asset base to serve the healthcare market, especially the wipes segment. In addition, it will increase the company’s technical expertise with the hiring of trained and experienced employees, the company said in a media statement.

“We are proud to continue our fast expansion in the United States. FDI is not only a reputable supplier in the industry, but also a great match to Fitesa’s culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Both companies have the healthcare market as part of their strategic focus, and we are positive that, together, we will be able to add even more value to our customers, employees and stakeholders,” Ricardo Fasolo, managing senior vice-president for Fitesa in the US and Canada.

Fitesa specialises in the development of innovative solutions for the hygiene and healthcare markets using a broad range of technologies, which include spunbond, carded, airlaid, films, elastics, and laminates.
