From 8 to 11 April, experts and operators in the nonwovens industry are gathering in Geneva at the INDEX 2014 international nonwovens exhibition. At the event, the leading RadiciGroup product lines are going to be DYLARpolypropylene spunbond nonwoven specialties and DORIXand RADILONSTAPLE FIBRE staple products.

RadiciGroup staple fibre is produced at two production sites: Radici Yarn SpA, one of the oldest Group companies celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and Radici Chemiefaser GmbH, part of the Group since February 2011. Over the years, these products have helped RadiciGroup gain a leadership position in Europe in the production of polyamide 6 staple.

The two sites complement each other, giving RadiciGroup customers a full range of products, in addition to great production flexibility and superior product performance in terms of mechanical resistance, resilience and colourfastness. Nonwovens for technical applications such as interlinings, industrial filters and abrasives. These are the main market segments where RadiciGroup nylon staple is an ideal solution.

“We have always been in the nonwovens market with our Radilonnylon staple portfolio. Now, showcasing our products at INDEX is an excellent opportunity for us, since it is an additional display window for our nylon staple products” said Filippo Bona, of Radici Yarn R&D.

“For a couple of years now, we have been considering certain industrial applications for our nonwovens, optimizing our Dorixproducts specifically for these kinds of uses. Now, we are introducing a wide range of nylon 6 and 6.10 products to this particular market segment and are aiming at extending our portfolio with products having even better performance over a range of properties by the end of this year.”

“Crucial to our R&D work is the competence of Radici Chimica, which we can always count on,” Mr. Bona concluded. “Their know-how in nylon polymer production is a major strength for our entire Group. The contribution of Radici Chimica is what made it possible to develop two of our latest products: nylon 6.10 staple and continuous yarn.”
