Innovative technologies which securely and permanently prevent destructive microbes such as mold and mildew, algae, pink stain and bacteria from attacking textiles is being presented at Techtextil 2017 by the Swiss company Sanitized AG. These technologies help in maintaining the functionality and aesthetics of textiles, and also increase their service life.

Sanitized AG, pioneer and specialist in the antimicrobial treatment of textiles and plastics, has designed individual solutions for application in textiles and their coatings. These solutions help companies maintain the maximum functionality and aesthetics of technical textiles by preventing or significantly slowing down destructive microorganisms and their metabolic products.

The material fatigue and visual deterioration caused by staining is specifically reduced by these easy-to-use products available in a variety of delivery forms for different applications, the company said.

Items such as awnings, tarpaulins and architectural textiles may be colonised and destroyed by microorganisms. The manufacturer must ensure the functionality and aesthetics of the products as long as possible even when they are exposed to extreme weather conditions such as UV radiation or moisture, or subject to manual stresses.
