While 25-45 per cent of India’s production of spun-bond non-woven fabric is consumed within the country and 35-55 per cent gets exported, this ratio may change in view of the change in production capacities in recent months, according to Non Woven Federation of India (NWFI) president Suresh Patel, who said the present capacity utilisation is around 17 per cent compared to 90 per cent in the pre-COVID period.

Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh are the leading states which contribute to maximum output of such fabric, he told TechnicalTextile.net in an interview.
