Thailand’s petrochemicals producer, Indorama Ventures, has announced that its Hygiene Fibers Group is featuring a sustainability portfolio at the ongoing IDEA show in Miami. The portfolio comprises the launch of Deja carbon neutral polypropylene fibre range and advancements in its biotransformative polypropylene fibres and nonwovens technology.

Indorama Ventures is committed to the delivery of a circular economy and recognises that alternative sustainable solutions, such as carbon neutral fibre and biotransformation technology, provide valuable circular solutions when recycling may not be possible. Deja carbon neutral polypropylene ?bres have been developed in response to customer demand for solutions to meet sustainability targets and objectives, Indorama Ventures said in a media release.

Moreover, the company’s advancements in dual solution biotransformation (PP), designed to be recyclable and time-set biodegradable, will feature strongly at the IDEA show. The chemical company’s team will showcase the ground-breaking technology at the show, with a video demonstration of the process and sample PP fibre and nonwovens materials.

All the six brands that make up the Hygiene Fibers Group – Auriga, Avgol, FiberVisions, Indorama Asia, Trevira and Wellman International – will be represented at the Indorama Ventures’ booth. Significant advancements in recycled materials can be discussed with the Wellman International team, recycling pioneers for more than 50 years, at the IDEA show, the media release added.

“Indorama Ventures’ Hygiene Group is delighted to meet customers face to face at the IDEA show again. The company is focused on working with customers to find solutions that add value to the business and are future-focused and sustainable. I am particularly pleased at the progress Indorama Ventures has made in biotransformation technology and looking forward to sharing with you at the show. Biotransformation PP goes beyond biodegradation as it breaks down completely into non-toxic components that do not harm the environment. This, and Indorama Ventures’ latest developments in Deja carbon neutral PP fibres, and the many other sustainable innovations for fibres and nonwovens, is what differentiates the company’s Hygiene Group as a partner of choice to the hygiene industry,” Shachar Rachim, CEO, Hygiene Fibers Group, said.
