Armacell, a leader in flexible foam for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, has inaugurated two additional PET production lines at the PET Foams headquarters in Thimister-Clermont, Belgium. The company develops innovative and safe thermal, acoustic, and mechanical solutions that create sustainable value for customers.

Using state-of-the-art technology, with ERP and Six Sigma process monitoring systems for full quality control, these two new production lines will produce 180,000 cubic metres of innovative, eco-friendly PET foams every year. One of the new production lines is dedicated to ArmaPET Eco50 - Armacell’s latest solution that supports energy-efficient sustainable building with improved comfort and safety, the company said in a press release.

“Following the PET production start in China in 2020, this significant expansion of production capacity and warehouse space provides the necessary versatility and flexibility to quickly respond to unique requests and reduce lead times to give our customers a competitive edge in their respective markets,” Thomas Kessel, managing director, PET Foams said in a statement.

“Armacell is responding to the growing demand for high-performance insulating materials in the construction market and offers a foam core that combines structural integrity and thermal insulation,” Henri Chapelle, global sales and marketing manager, PET Foams said.

Continuing the trend of using Armacell’s patented process technology, which converts recycled plastic bottles into high-value foam materials, it is estimated that the company will quickly reach the two billion bottle landmark with these two new production lines in operation.
