Ashland Performance Materials, a business unit of Ashland Inc., is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Derakane resins at the ongoing Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX), from October 27 to 29, 2015, in Dallas, in booth E100.

Andy Beer, vice president, North American Composites for Ashland said, “In addition to celebrating Derakane's 50th anniversary, this has been a big year for us as we launched a number of new products delivering solutions to our customers to help them meet the demands of their customers and regulatory challenges. In addition, Ashland continued to the lead the way in creating demand for new composites applications, through our Compositebuild.com efforts and partnering with entrepreneurs. Looking ahead, we will continue providing solutions that enable ideas to succeed.”

Providing differentiated solutions to the marketplace was a strong focus for the company over the past year. Ashland introduced a low styrene resin, Aropol L 67314, to minimise exposure to styrene vapours, making the workplace a more pleasant and attractive environment. In addition, Ashland's new 1.1 Class A SMC system enables the advancement of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) lightweighting plans as the auto industry races to meet the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFÉ) standards, according to a press release.

Andy Johnston, group vice president, Ashland Performance Materials said, “Ashland Performance Materials is a global leader in composite resins and gelcoats. Through our differentiated functionality, we enable customers to create valued products.”
