Protective Industrial Products Inc (PIP), a portfolio company of Audax, has acquired West Chester Protective Gear (West Chester), a leader in providing personal protective equipment to industrial and retail channels. Investment banking advisors, Lincoln International, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to West Chester throughout the sale process.

“Lincoln used its deep expertise in the personal protective equipment industry to drive a highly successful outcome by effectively conveying West Chester’s value drivers and growth opportunities to a motivated group of strategic and financial acquirers,” said Lincoln International in a press release.

The acquisition of West Chester solidifies PIP’s position among the leading providers of hand protection and general safety products in North America. PIP will leverage this new partnership to provide its distributors in the safety industry and retailers with an expanded product offering along with more flexible solutions to meet every competitive need.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, West Chester offers an extensive line of hand protection products along with a protective apparel line including high visibility clothing, disposable clothing, aprons and sleeves, rainwear and welding apparel. West Chester’s products have critical functional attributes and certifications that are necessary to meet the daily demands of do-it-yourself (DIY) consumers and professionals and today’s modern workforce.
