Composites UK and the Advanced Composites Alliance (ACA) have become reciprocal affiliate partners of each other. ACA is a newly formed network and a business alliance which is focused on four main sectors: civil aerospace, defence, space and medical technology. Composites UK is the accredited trade association for the UK composites industry.

The agreement between the two organisations will mean that they will promote each other to their respective networks including the promotion of reports and developments within the UK composites supply chain. The agreement will also see engagement in one another’s events and conferences, offering discounts for both sets of member companies; and invitations to speak at relevant events, according to a press release by Composites UK.

“It’s fantastic to now be working with the ACA to further strengthen our links with Northern Ireland. It will allow us to engage more with the region and support our ongoing regional activities,” Charlotte White, supply chain relationship manager at Composites UK said in a statement.

“The ACA is delighted to be partnered with Composites UK and looks forward to further supporting the growth of the UK composites industry,” Alan Blair from ACA said.

The ACA is funded by Invest Northern Ireland, and brings together the main composites manufacturers in Northern Ireland, along with stakeholders that include Bombardier, Thales, the Satellite Applications Catapult and their two universities, Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University.
