Bruchsal-based composite equipment manufacturer Schmidt & Heinzmann has set up a second subsidiary in the US. The move will help it further target the American market. Despite low economic forecasts for Germany and Europe, the company continues to grow. Amidst the current economic scenario, American companies are preparing to gain a competitive advantage.

In comparison to Europe, the US economy is booming. A reason for many American companies to prepare for the future is to gain a competitive advantage. Schmidt & Heinzmann also benefits from this development. Especially the fields of cutting and stacking as well as processing of semi-finished composite products, are experiencing very high growth rates in the US. The company’s technological leadership built up by the development of machines and processes in recent years contributes to this.

“With our new subsidiary in the greater Cleveland area we will be able to serve our customers in the Midwest and East Coast even faster and more targeted from now on,” says Christian Fais, president of Schmidt & Heinzmann North America. Commissioners, service engineers and project managers for coordinating of commissioning and service, work at this site. Sales, marketing and general administration will continue to be located in Phoenix, as well as the service team for the West Cost customers. This second subsidiary enables the company to achieve significantly faster response times.

Schmidt & Heinzmann has witnessed high international demand for its products. “We see an increasing request for solutions for the automated production of composite parts in the future. This is what we are focusing our international organisation on,” says Matthias Feil, CEO of Schmidt & Heinzmann Group.
