Hyundai is set to present a colour-material-finish (CMF) concept seat model using sustainable leather and other regenerative materials from tanning waste at Lineapelle from February 22-24, 2021, at pavilion 9. The international leather trade show will be held at Milan, Italy. Hyundai is a multinational automotive manufacturer, based in Italy.

Under the theme ‘Shift to Regenerative Mobility,’ Hyundai Transys worked closely with Italian leather tanneries, manufacturers and Korean suppliers to visualise the future mobility seat concept. The innovative and future concept car was presented in Seoul on January 26th, during “an event held at its HQ on Jan. 26, with Steve Yeo, CEO of Hyundai Transys, and H.E. Federico Failla, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Korea. Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle and UNIC General Manager, also joined the event online from Italy to take a look at the future of mobility seats and discuss related sustainability efforts”, the company said in a press release.

The prototype “will be located inside the Innovation Area of Lineapelle fair”. Here there will also be design sustainable projects made with upcycled leather”. These seats, in fact, are made by using “the by-product of leather going to the auto segment”. One that “has currently seen a lively debate over whether the use of leather is sustainable and ethical”. After Lineapelle, the prototype will be showcased at the Spazio Lineapelle (Palazzo Gorani, Milan) from March to June (at the same time as the Salone del Mobile).
