The Americas Apparel Producers’ Network (AAPN) recently opened an online sourcing centre connecting its supplier and producer members to make masks, gowns and other urgently required medical garments and sewn products. The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), which has a partnership with AAPN, is offering the service free to its members and network.

AAPN started the centre on March 22 with a captive audience of 1,609 executives, and within 12 hours, nearly 1,000 people had accessed the page, said an IFAI press release.

An US mill that had closed recently, because of lack of work, reopened soon to respond to requests for production, in part from this resource.

Roseville- Minnesota-based IFAI is a not-for-profit trade association comprising member companies representing the international specialty fabrics marketplace.
