Italian companies Advanced Composites Solutions, Susta Srl and U.Form Srl have signed the CarbonForm agreement to develop press forming technologies for composite materials. The collaboration can lead to the possibility of mass-producing a much higher number of parts for automotive sector compared to traditional composite moulding technologies with autoclave.

A collaboration born from a bet: the conversion of a plant that previously printed metal and is now able to produce carbon fibre parts in the new production unit of Villa Zaccheo, in the municipality of Castellalto, province of Teramo in Italy, the companies said in a joint press release.

Advanced Composites Solutions (ACS) specialises in the design and production of carbon fibre and other composite parts for automotive, nautical, aerospace and industrial sectors.

U.Form is an integral part of the strategic development plan of two industrial groups, Susta and Tiberina, two companies supplying the largest European car manufacturers respectively with construction and manufacture of dies for metal deformation and production of steel components. The company is focussed on stamping finished and semi-finished parts for the automotive industry with the hot stamping process.

As for Susta, it specialises in design and manufacture of stamping dies for metal deformation with cold and hot process for the automotive industry, from engineering and construction to assembly and service.
