Phagwara-based Jagatjit Cotton Textiles (JCT) recently came up with a range of anti-infective wear for various retail segments, including the elderly, police, defence personnel, airlines and the hospitality industry. It is using ‘VB Go’ (Viral Bacteria Go) technology in the range, for which it has partnered with Sweden-based Polygiene AB to use the latter’s patented ‘Viral Off’ anti-viral technology.
The company has categorized the new retail range as ‘technical textiles’ that are anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-infectious, ensuring bio-hazard prevention, according to a report in top Indian daily.
JCT obtained quality certification from noted agencies like Boken Quality Evaluation Institute based in Osaka, Industrial Microbiological Services Limited in Sweden and the South India Textile Research Association in Coimbatore.
It has come up with the ‘Surakshak Flying Suits’ range for the aviation sector, the ‘Namaste’ range for the elderly and the ‘Sahayak’ range for police and defence personnel.
In the Surakshak flying suits range, apart from colorful coveralls, the company has also launched ‘VB Go bags’, made of 100 per cent anti-viral and waterproof fabric.
The hospitality range includes chef coats, spa and beauty parlour range, waitress uniforms, front office uniform and even bed sheets, pillows, napkins, curtains, table cloth and upholstery.
