Kordsa has sponsored the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2018, a summit of the global entrepreneurship ecosystem, which was held from April 16 to 19, 2018, in Istanbul, Turkey. At the “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” panel, Kordsa shared with participants its global collaborations and technologies as a reflection of its open innovation mindset.
Co-hosted by Endeavor Association, Habitat Association, TIM, and TOBB, GEC 2018 Congress was visited by nearly 10,000 international participants from 170 countries. At the awards ceremony held on April 16, 2018, the participants enjoyed the composite cello performance, reinforced and lightened by Kordsa technologies. Kordsa also sponsored the ‘The Future of Transportation and Space’ workshop.
Kordsa business and market development director and construction business unit leader, Murat Oguz Arcan, spoke in the Fourth Industrial Revolution panel, moderated by the futurist and writer Alex Salkever’s, together with Amitabh Kant, CEO of India National Transportation Institute, Utku Baris Pazar, Koç holding strategy and business development director, and Tanya Woods, an executive from GEN Canada.
Arcan said, “As a global player of reinforcement technologies operating in a wide geography from USA to Asia Pacific, we provide high value-added reinforcement solutions at our eight facilities in four continents with a mission to reinforce life. We contribute to building stronger and safer buildings with our construction reinforcement technologies while improving the tire grip and reducing the rolling resistance in tire reinforcement technologies.”
“In the first year of our Composite Technologies Centre of Excellence conjointly established by Kordsa and Sabanci University in 2016, we developed a technology that increases production speed in the field of automotive composites. At the centre, we strive to develop visual and structural parts to produce stronger and lighter vehicles. We are involved in joint projects including system development, software and materials for the production of composite materials with 3D printer technology and the production of nano-enhanced composite repair materials to the aviation sector,” he added.
