Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM), a subsidiary of DRBHicom Bhd group, recently signed a contract with United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Strata Manufacturing PJSC for the supply of structural composite detail parts for aircraft components. Strata is an advanced composite aerostructures manufacturing company owned by Mubadala Investment Co PJSC.

The 10-year contract was signed at the Dubai Airshow 2019. CTRM chief executive officer (CEO) Shamsuddin Mohamed Yusof said the partnership with Strata will enhance the company’s capacity to develop technology-based solutions for the advanced composites industry.

“Through this strategic partnership, CTRM becomes the extended manufacturing arm and capacity provider for Strata. By leveraging on each other’s respective strengths and capabilities, CTRM and Strata will complement each other in capacity and capabilities towards strengthening our position in the aerospace industry,” he said in a statement.

The first shipment is due to arrive at Strata’s world-class Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park production facility in the second quarter of 2020, according to Malaysian media reports.

Strata CEO Ismail Abdulla said the partnership will enable Strata to continue exceeding customers’ expectations in terms of cost-efficient delivery.
