Bulgarian film manufacturer Plastchim-T will upgrade its 6,6 m line to 5-layer film production which will enlarge its product portfolio with a wide variety of higher value quality films. The production of specialty films at existing, smaller lines with lower output is a suitable alternative to the increased worldwide production capacity of commodity films.

Brückner Servtec will equip the biaxially oriented polypropylene films (BOPP) line of Plastchim-T with a gravimetric batch dosing system, two additional single screw co-extruders and a state-of-the-art 5-layer die. Of course, the new components will be fully integrated in the existing IPC system. The line modification is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019, said Brückner Group in a press release.

Plastchim-T is one of the leading privately owned European manufacturers of BOPP, cast polypropylene films (CPP) and flexible packaging products. They have a broad portfolio of Brückner BOPP lines in working widths of 4,2 m, 6,6 m, 8,7 m and also the world-record 10,4 m BOPP line with a speed of 600 m/min, installed in 2018. The 5-layer upgrade fits perfectly into their strategy of a machinery park with the highest flexibility to fast changing markets’ demands. It is another investment in the future and makes the line fit for many years to come. (PC)
