Pegas Nonwovens has selected suppliers for the Egyptian plant

PEGAS NONWOVENS announces that following the recently released announcement pertaining to the conclusion of negotiations with a major customer for the delivery of nonwoven textiles from its Egyptian production plant, it is now concluding contracts with the suppliers of the technology and building works.
On September 21, the Company signed a contract with the production technology
supplier Reifenhäuser REICOFIL GmbH & Co. KG. Concurrently, PSG International a.s. was selected as the general contractor for the building works part of the project. The contract with PSG International a.s. is expected to be signed in the next few days.
"We are well aware that the historically first international investment by PEGAS demands the cooperation of experienced and proven suppliers and so we have given their selection our maximum attention. REICOFIL is our long-term partner and the supplier of all our currently installed production lines. We have good experience with PSG International from the construction of the production plant building built for our latest production line in the Czech Republic, which we are currently putting into operation. We believe that the selection of these two companies guarantees the successful completion of the entire investment”, said František Rezác, member of the Board of Directors of PEGAS NONWOVENS SA and CEO of PEGAS NONWOVENS s.r.o.
Basic information about the project for the construction of a production plant in Egypt.
The production plant will be located in the industrial zone near the City of 6th October near Cairo. In the first phase the value of the investment is planned in the range of EUR 55-60 million. The first line should have an annual capacity of approximately 20 thousand tonnes (depending on the product portfolio) and it is expected to be put into operation during the course of the second half of 2013. If the market conditions in the region are positive, the Company expects to expand the plant by a second production line in the years 2015-2016, which would increase the total annual capacity of the Egyptian plant to 45-50 thousand tonnes. PEGAS has, by means of an agreement with a major customer, secured demand for the majority of its production volume coming from the Egyptian production plant.
