The new products add to an already unique portfolio and confirm Clariant as the innovation company in the textile chemicals industry. Clariant is a matchless system supplier of customized solutions and elevates the standards of the entire textiles value chain by offering benefits to all customers.

The company’s focus on closely intertwined concepts for spot on solutions that meet the demands of sustainability, protection, performance and fashion will be highlighted throughout the event at Booth H4-A150-151.

Sustainability

Clariant demonstrates its response to the challenge to make textile processes more sustainable with products, processes and know how technology that address environmental concerns.

The new Pekoflam® system is a fundamental breakthrough in durable FR (fire retardant) finishes and heralds a new generation in the production of FR protective textiles.

Clariant’s Foam Eco Care finishing sets a new benchmark in wrinkle-free finishes. This has been achieved with a new foam-based application improving fabric quality, cutting down production processes and generating benefits in water, energy and time savings.

Clariant’s new all-in-one bleaching auxiliary is the key to the new Blue Magic process. Based on Imerol® Blue liquid, it generates both economic and ecological advantages: water savings of 50%, energy usage cut by 40% and it reduces process time by half.

Protection

Clariant provides technical textile solutions that apply to any sector, from military and emergency services, to extreme environments and leisure pursuits.

Microcapsule composite blend Nuva® N1811 delivers superior performance in repellency, stain protection and durability.

New finishing and technical textile products, including new non-fluorinated water repellent agents, and the new Pekoflam® flame retardant technologies.

Optifix® CLC liq opens new creative possibilities and improves chlorine fastness for dyes and prints on PA and PA/EL, particularly for swimwear articles as well as cellulosic fibers and their blends.

Performance

Clariant presents multi-faceted range incorporates auxiliaries for package and beam dyeing, migration inhibitors for continuous dyeing, and disperse dyes with outstanding wet fastness properties.

The Foron® S-WF range of dyes continues to expand and the color spectrum broadens to include three new shades — Turquoise for bright greens that can match cotton standards, Vermillion for bright reds and Atlantic Blue, a greenish blue dye as a metamerism control element.

Afilan® MF3 liq: Spin finish for manufacture of staple fibers based on recycled polyester for nonwoven applications.

Chlorine-resistant optical brighteners, such as Leucophor® BMBB and the Hostalux® ACK brighteners.

Solusoft® SIH, a new hydrophilic silicone micro-emulsion which supplies a super-soft handle. It is suitable for all types of fibers.

…and Fashion

On September 23, 2011 Clariant launches an exciting new development that illustrates its commitment to provide know-how and technology to match the lifestyle of today’s end consumer:

•Quiospheres®, a new high tech cosmetic micro encapsulation for textile applications with proven benefits providing a feeling of well-being and wellness. It is a combination of high value cosmetic ingredients and a high tech encapsulation technique.

•A synergy of dyeing technologies that creates the most stunning, deepest black shades under any lighting conditions, with great flexibility and excellent wash-fastness; designed to excite the fashion industry and possibly frustrate the paparazzi.

•Acid dyes with high fastness properties even in dark shades but without heavy metals. Brilliant acid dyes which bring a new color dimension in brightness: Lanasyn® Flavine F-5G.

Valued partnership

Complementing the portfolio at the Clariant ITMA booth will be the integrated Sanitized® range of antibacterial additives – that can be combined with the Clariant innovations – including real alternatives to products containing triclosan such as Sanitized® Silver, TH 22-27 or T 99-119.
Masterbatches

Clariant’s experts for adding color and functionality to synthetic fibers from the Business Unit Masterbatches will be available at the booth throughout the event.

Masterbatches delivers a wide range of solutions for traditional polyolefin, polyester and nylon fibers as well as newer polymers such as PLA and PTT. Coloring products range from single pigment concentrates to customized color masterbatches. Performance solutions can be delivered in the form of discrete additive masterbatches or together with color in a convenient “combibatch” form. These products can add durability, lightfastness, flame retardancy and many other performance properties. For instance, the new state of the art masterbatch plant in Italy produces additive masterbatches that incorporate specific pyrethroid insecticides which are added to the polypropylene and polyethylene fibers woven into insect netting. These products are used to produce mosquito nets which are recommended by the WHO.

To assist textile customers in the development and application of these and many other technologies, Clariant provides color matching and counter-typing and technical consultation services. More than 50 manufacturing facilities around the world support a network of ten dedicated Fiber Centers located strategically in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

Innovation sessions

The “from fiber to finish” textile technology supplier will organize six “innovation sessions” to demonstrate the on going developments that support its position as a leading innovator and technical partner across all areas of textile production.
