August 27, 2014 - United States Of America

Milliken, a producer of specialty chemicals, floor coverings, and performance materials, said its subsidiary, Milliken Infrastructure Solutions has acquired assets of Pipe Wrap, Inc.

Pipe Wrap is a designer and manufacturer of composite materials for pipe repairs, providing custom solutions for structural reinforcement, leak repair, and corrosion prevention.

The acquisition is the latest in the expansion of Milliken’s fiber-reinforced polymer business, serving both steel and concrete structures.

For Milliken Infrastructure, this announcement follows the June 2014 acquisition of assets of Edge Structural Composites, Inc.

Edge produces strengthening systems for structural upgrades, corrosion repairs, seismic strengthening, and other applications.

Milliken Infrastructure Solutions’ products include concrete cloth fabric, MaxCell innerduct, geopolymers, along with additional innovative approaches to strengthening structures.

“We are excited about the addition of Pipe Wrap’s wide range of custom-engineered solutions to Milliken’s portfolio of industry-leading products,” said Dale Willis, Vice President of Milliken’s building and infrastructure business.

He added, “Whether it’s concrete restoration or facility and pipeline maintenance, Milliken continuously explores new materials and methods that save time and money when rehabilitating, repairing, or strengthening infrastructure.”
