Ahlstrom hikes building & energy segment product prices

November 19, 2014 - Finland

High performance fibre based materials producer, Ahlstrom said it has increased prices of materials produced by its Building and Energy business segment.

The increases will be approximately 10 per cent on average, depending on worldwide markets, products and the agreements in place and will be effective starting on January 1, 2015 at the latest.

“The price increases are being made to compensate for the continued high level of certain raw material costs and utilities-related inflation,” the Finnish nonwovens producer explained.

Ahlstrom's Building and Energy segment products are used in applications like wallcoverings, floorings, building panels, composite reinforcements, automotive interiors, apparel, fabric care and wound care.

The Building and Energy business division has production sites in six countries. (AR)
