Innergy yarn made fabric absorbs more radiation: Nilit

December 03, 2014 - Israel

Israeli producer of specialised nylon 6.6 yarn, Nilit says fabric made from its Innergy yarn has been found to have greater radiation absorption then fabric made from conventional yarns.

According to Nilit, the study proved that when Innergy nylon 6.6 yarn knitted into Maglificio Ripa's fabrics, offered increased oxygen levels in the blood, decreased and postponed accumulation of lactic acid levels, energised athletes during sport activities and helped relieve muscle fatigue after sports activities.

The study was presented in Milan, Italy on November 19 by a panel of academic professionals to an audience of 60 journalists from sports, fashion and lifestyle publications.

“The subject of the study was to demonstrate the real efficacy of the fabric functionalized with bio minerals, through comparison with a conventional fabric with the same composition, but not functionalized,” Nilit said.

The first phase of the study was carried out at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Chimica e Ambientale (DICCA) of the Università di Genova, under the direction of Prof. Gianguido Ramis.

The study was done through a Fourier-Transform Infrared spectra (FT-IR) measurement performed on fabrics made with Innergy and with untreated yarn.

The study highlighted a significant variation of the baseline in the spectral interval between 1900 and 1700 cm-1, indicating a greater radiation absorption by Innergy material.

“Such trend, although with a different intensity, is observable in all Innergy spectra,” the study report observed.

The study report noted that, such behaviour is compatible with the presence of an inorganic substance firmly incorporated to polyamide fibre and able to interact, absorbing it first and re-emitting it after, according to the normal rules of chemical bond relaxation, with an infrared radiation between 800 and 2000 cm-1, including the thermal frequency emitted by a human body.

The result of such testing has been the premise in also the vivo test, in order to evaluate the effect of outfits functionalized with IR-reflecting natural minerals on human physiology.

The second phase of the study was carried out at Centro Cardiologico Monzino, by the medical Equipe directed by PierGiuseppe Agostoni, with the collaboration of Politecnico di Torino, Ada Ferri and Francesca Dotti. (AR)
